Gail's Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps

This is a light and easy family favorite. There are so many ways to customize this recipe!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey, organic
  • 1 can Water Chestnuts, diced
  • 2-3 Carrots, organic, diced
  • 1/2 Onion, diced
  • 1/3 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Aminos, Tamari or Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 head Butter or Iceberg Lettuce

Optional Toppings

  • Sriracha
  • Crushed Cashews
  • Sweet Chili Sauce
  • Scallions, sliced
  • Radish, sliced
  • Bean Sprouts
  • Brown Rice, cooked

Instructions
 

  • Heat large skillet with sesame oil. 
    Brown and crumble ground turkey until no longer pink.  Remove from pan. 
    Place carrots, onion and water chestnuts in pan and saute for 5 minutes. 
    Add turkey back to pan.  Pour hoisin and coconut aminos over turkey veggie mixture. 
    Stir to coat.
    Here’s come the fun part! Create your wraps:
    Fill a lettuce leaf with rice (or skip if you are not into starchy carbs), turkey mixture and your choice of .toppings. Enjoy!
